The Proust Questionnaire has its origins in a parlor game popularized (though not devised) by Marcel Proust, the French essayist and novelist, who believed that, in answering these questions, an individual reveals his or her true nature. Here is the basic Proust Questionnaire. Introduction In this blog post, I will answer questions from The Proust Questionnaire. This is my first blog post for my English 100 course, and my answers should tell you more about myself and my views. __1.__What is your idea of perfect happiness? My idea of perfect happiness is being around the people who love me and being able to be myself completely around them. __2.__What is your greatest fear? My greatest fear is dying young. I am not afraid of death itself, but leaving everyone behind. I think everything happens for a reason, but I would be afraid for my family. __3.__What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? The trait I deplore the most in myself is my lack of common sense. Sometimes I do things without really thinking and can be too impulsive. __4.__What is the trait you most deplore in others? The trait I deplore the most in others is lying. __5.__Which living person do you most admire? I'm not sure. __6.__What is your greatest extravagance? I don't really have many fancy or expensive things, I guess my most extravagant thing would be my car, even though it is basically falling apart. __7.__What is your current state of mind? My current state of mind is tired and stressed. __8.__What do you consider the most overrated virtue? I'm not sure. __9.__On what occasion do you lie? I don't lie often, I hate when people lie and I think nothing good comes out of it. When I lie it is just small lies to my parents to get out of trouble. __10.__What do you most dislike about your appearance? I mostly dislike the right side of my face. It's not really symmetrical and that whole side just bothers me. __11.__Which living person do you most despise? I would rather not answer this question. __12.__What is the quality you most like in a man? The quality I like the most in a man is honesty and loyalty. __13.__What is the quality you most like in a woman? The quality I most like in a woman is being caring and strong. __14.__Which words or phrases do you most overuse? I try to overuse the words "I love you", I always try to say it to the people I love when I hang up on the phone, go to sleep, or leave an event. You never know what could happen, or when the last time you talk to someone is. __15.__What or who is the greatest love of your life? The greatest love of my life is having fun and living life to the fullest. __16.__When and where were you happiest? Ive had many happy moments, not completely sure of which was my happiest ever. I had a great time in Disney World, Made in America, and all my vacations in the last year. __17.__Which talent would you most like to have? I would like to be talented at sports, I quit everything because I was awful at them. I wish I stuck with them and was better because it would help keep me in shape and I would enjoy them more. __18.__If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I would give myself some more common sense and street smarts. __19.__What do you consider your greatest achievement? I'm not sure of my greatest achievement. __20.__If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be? I would come back as a dog because people love them and they are cute. __21.__Where would you most like to live? I enjoy living in Pennsylvania, because I like the weather and area, but I would love to have a summer home somewhere on the Jersey shore. __22.__What is your most treasured possession? My most treasured possession is my bed... I could lay in it all day. __23.__What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? The lowest depth of misery is the loss of someone you love, whether it's death or a falling out, nothing hurts more than losing someone so important to you. __24.__What is your favorite occupation? There is a lot of occupations I find interesting, but I want to be an elementary school teacher. __25.__What is your most marked characteristic? My most marked characteristic is that I really care about others. __26.__What do you most value in your friends? Honesty and loyalty are two very important traits in a friendship for me. __27.__Who are your favorite writers? My favorite writers are John Green and Nicholas Sparks. __28.__Who is your hero of fiction? I don't know __29.__Which historical figure do you most identify with? I'm not sure __30.__Who are your heroes in real life? My real life heroes are the soldiers, police officers, firemen, and the other everyday heroes who put their lives on the line for us. __31.__What are your favorite names? My favorite names are Sienna and Colton. __32.__What is it that you most dislike? I most dislike when people judge others and think they are better than them for whatever reason. __33.__What is your greatest regret? My greatest regret is something I would rather not share. __34.__How would you like to die? I preferably would like to die old after a long happy life surrounded by family and friends, without suffering. __35.__What is your motto? "Life goes on!" No matter what happens you just need to keep going because time doesn't wait for anyone, and life will go on.
